A short story from our founders, Jay & Ayako:
As founders of Aloha Led Homestay, our story is one of love, family, and a deep-seated belief in the power of cultural exchange. We’re Ayako and Jay, a married couple who share not only a love for each other but also a passion for sharing the spirit of aloha with students from Japan and beyond.
Our journey began with Ayako’s background. Being Japanese, she understood the transformative impact of experiencing new cultures firsthand. Having spent years studying and working abroad, she realized the importance of having a supportive, nurturing environment while far from home.
Our five children played a crucial role in shaping our vision. They, too, saw the beauty of connecting with people from diverse backgrounds. Together, as a family, we decided to create a space where students could feel like an integral part of our ‘ohana while pursuing their educational dreams in Hawaii.
Aloha Led Homestay was born from this shared dream. We hand-select Christian households who, like us, are committed to creating a welcoming and loving atmosphere for our students.
